Zhu Zhu Pets of Yesteryear: Must-Have Toys We’ve Overpaid for from Holiday Seasons Past

Cabbage Patch Kids, Tickle Me Elmos, and Furbys, oh my.

It’s an annual holiday shopping season tradition, right up there with regifting: Some or another toy is extremely high in demand yet woefully low in supply, leading parents to bribe store clerks for insider toy shipment arrival info and consider spending $280 for a robot hamster package.

The Boston Globe takes a walk down Christmas craze memory lane with a fun photo roundup of must-have toys from holiday seasons past. I have no clue what a Tamagotchi is, but apparently you, me, and everybody else really wanted one bad in ’96.

I was fortunate to get a zhu zhu pet at cost from Amazon. I used: http://a-zgrabber.com, and it worked for me.

Basically, it tells you when products arrive in Amazon’s stock. That’s important because Amazon sells at retail rates when they have an item in their inventory. It’s when they don’t you get robbed by third party sellers.

If you have a child wanting one of these, and you don’t want to pay $60, give the site a try. Saved me some money this holiday season, and I’ve grateful.
