Parents: The Ultimate Zhu Zhu Pet Pushers

A mom admits to buying Zhu Zhu Pets strictly because of the hype—and then launching a marketing campaign on her kids to convince them that they actually want the darn robotic hamsters.

A Washington Post writer comes clean. While in an aisle with her kids, she asks if they want the impossible-to-find Zhu Zhu Pets staring at them from the shelf. They say no. She buys them anyway.

Perhaps the Zhu Zhu craze really is a disease, a “viral infection,” if you will.
