Cheapskate Wisdom About … What to Do When a Credit Card Issuer Screws You Over

“I’ll pay off the balance on my credit card and move on.”

These are the words of a former bank executive who, ironically enough, was recently screwed over by Capitol One. What happened? While the former spokesperson for Bank of America had brain surgery and was in the hospital for six weeks, Capitol One canceled his credit card’s reward program, and all of his old reward points suddenly disappeared.
