The finalists for a wacky (a.k.a. stupid, unnecessary, pointless) warning labels contest include a dust mask that “does not supply oxygen” and a pen that advises against shoving the cap down one’s throat. Why? In case you weren’t already aware that “pen caps can obstruct breathing.”
The contest is run every year by an Atlanta-based nonprofit called Center for America, and the “winner” will be declared sometime in June.
Previous winners include a scooter that warns “this product moves when used,” and a foldable child car safety seat that advises “remove child before folding.”
