Wednesday evening? That’s the theory being passed around anyway. And that’s tonight — so get shopping.

Lifehacker proposes the idea that it’s wise to hit the supermarket in the evening, soon after store workers have reduced prices on items that’ll be expiring in the near future. Wednesday nights are specifically recommended, seeing that many grocery stores unveil their latest specials that day—and yet they’re still apt to honor sale prices from the previous week. Lifehacker also says that produce and fish are likely to be restocked in the middle of the week, though hopefully this stuff is restocked more than once a week.

If nothing else, the supermarket shouldn’t be crowded on Wednesday night. Well, at least it shouldn’t be crowded until word gets out that this is the best time to find the greatest selection and snag the cheapest prices.

L.A. Parents Pony Up For Kids’ V.I.P. Lounge Access at Sixth-Grade Dance

Most middle-school kids have better things to think about than whether or not they’re members of the 1%. On top of the $15 dance admission, students — or, more likely, their parents — can choose to pay an additional $5 to be a cool kid — excuse me, get access to a special “V.I.P.” area.

To prevent drunk driving, AAA clubs around the country are offering free rides to folks who’ve celebrated too much to safely get behind the wheel over Memorial Day weekend.
