Hawaii Beach Homes for President Obama
If, by chance, President Obama needs a new home in November, or ultimately in 2016, the team at TopTenRealEstateDeals.com thought it would be a good time to look at Hawaii oceanfront homes that are currently for sale — just in case the president wants to check out a few possibilities while he is there.
Although our 50th state has over 1,500 miles of coastal land, the president won’t have a big selection of beach homes to look at. “There just aren’t that many beachfront homes for sale in Hawaii. Once people buy a beach home, they don’t go up for sale very often,” says Justin Britt, co-founder of Hawaii Life Real Estate.

Oceanfront property availability varies throughout the state. Katie Minkus is a broker on the Big Island who explains that though there is a lot of oceanfront property on the island, it isn’t known for its beaches. “When a beachfront house becomes available, the public access is difficult, so the property owner often ends up with an almost private beach.”
A few islands up the chain, Molokai, accessed from Maui by ferry or plane, still has beachfront acreage for sale — mostly due to its remote location and small population. For presidents who want to build a new beachfront home, the Molokai and Big Island properties are available. If someone is looking for a large, elegant, island-style home on prime beachfront, Kailua, Oahu, may be just the ticket. The most recent home sales on Oahu this year have been to international buyers who have dominated the Hawaii luxury market.
